Design, Craft, and Resilience: A Visit to Our Ukrainian Workshop
Design, Craft, and Resilience: A Visit to Our Ukrainian Workshop
At Hardman Design, every piece of furniture tells a story—not just through its design, but through the people, places, and craftsmanship behind it. This month, our founder made a meaningful trip to our production workshop in Ukraine, a country we’ve proudly worked with since 2018.
For over six years, the Ukrainian workshop has played a vital role in Hardman Design’s journey. The dedication, skill, and care of our team there are woven into everything we create. We locally source FSC-certified hardwood and produce each piece with a deep respect for quality, sustainability, and traditional craftsmanship.
A Commitment Through Challenging Times
Our continued partnership with Ukraine means more now than ever. During an incredibly difficult time for the country, we are honored to support a network of hardworking craftspeople who show pride in their work every day. Their contribution is not only essential to our production—it’s a core part of who we are.
This visit was about more than connection. It was about progress.
Building What’s Next: Prototyping and Innovation
The purpose of the trip was to collaborate on new designs and prototypes. At Hardman, nothing ever stands still. We’re always sketching, refining, and challenging ourselves to evolve. This time, our focus was on developing fresh ideas across our entire range—from dining to living room and bedroom furniture.
As we continue to grow beyond our roots in solid wood tables, our goal is to bring the same craftsmanship and material integrity to every room of the home. Whether it’s a sideboard or a solid wood bed, each piece reflects our commitment to quality, sustainability, and functional design.
FSC-Certified Wood, Locally Sourced
All our wood is FSC-certified, ensuring it’s sourced responsibly and with environmental care. In Ukraine, our team uses locally grown hardwood, supporting both regional forestry initiatives and reducing the footprint of our production process. This keeps our furniture rooted in place and principle.

Looking Ahead
We’re proud to continue designing and building furniture that reflects the values we believe in: craftsmanship, innovation, integrity, and heart. And we’re especially proud to do so alongside our Ukrainian colleagues.
As we develop new collections, we look forward to sharing more behind-the-scenes moments—from prototype to finished product. Stay tuned for new launches soon.
To the team in Ukraine, thank you. Your strength, talent, and spirit inspire us every day.
